Random Snaps

I'm grateful enough to have good friends to let me borrow their equipment. I have always been curious about shooting with a fixed focal length (no zoom). Here are some of my test shots on the 1st day that I had it.

On the D40 it's manual focus! But at least both the lens and the camera together are super light!

After shooting with a 50mm for half a day, I've already come to see the advantages over the 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 Firstly, the 50mm shots really well in low light. I don't know if its difference in lens/glass quality but man the pictures look crispy! Although I will admit that a 50mm fixed focal length isn't really ideal for close pictures like when I was in a pub trying to pic a few snaps of friends. Its too zoomed in and I don't have room to move back! Haha It's all good though! Stay tuned for the next update lots of surprises coming along!
