Parks and Rec pt.3

I've come to realized my favorite places to take pictures is at the park! Here is my take of a pretty modern park I went to with my cousin in DTLB taken a few weeks ago. I decided to experiment a bit. Enjoy!

Parks and Rec pt. 2

Hilltop Park in Signal Hill. It really doesn't need an introduction, but to describe it is to describe Tom's secret park spot in 500 days of Summer. You just got to go see it for yourself.

"Mike" the Bike

Let me introduce to everyone "Mike" the Bike. This bad boy has been collecting dust in a garage for about ... 5 years? I actually feel pretty honored to be involved in his recovery back into full riding potential.
Mike is actually as you can see a Specialized Expedition mountain bike probably running around 24-30 speeds. Considering the age of this bike, all that really needed to be done was just a bit of dusting off, pumping of the tires, and chain lubing. Although I must admit, those wheels are bit untrue, but nothing like a good spoke wrench and time can't fix.
Mike the Bike was pretty light considering the gearing and suspension fork, gotta love aluminum tubing. Also those tires are FAT! Makes me want to get into Fixed Freestyle ahhaha!
Not gunna lie, after taking this bad boy for a spin for a while, it wanted me take actually take this thing down some dirt paths to see how it would hold up since it was pretty responsive.
Mike's sporting a shimano groupset, not too shabby sir, not too shabby. Also the only rusting that I could find was on the cassette sprockets prolly the 16th and 17th ones? I forgot already but that's pretty damn good and the chain wasn't rusted as well!
Just another day in the LBC.

Parks and Rec

Hello!
So I decided today to take out my steed to mainly practice my leg over bar skids. Even though it may not happen anytime soon, I really want to be able to pull off a leg over bar through frame skid. That for sure would be on my demo reel! Seriously though, tonight I had all the intention of just having a bike session. So all I brought with me is my mp3 player, lights, keys and my cellphone. It turned out to become a ride where I should have brought my camera.

It was funny because I sorta just started riding and ended up at a park. I don't even remember the name of this park in Lakewood, but somehow it felt familiar. Merci Rolls hasn't seen sand in a while.

Lastly, this abomination which I still don't understand and neither does Merci Rolls.

Nightlife

Told you I'd update a bit more often! Anywho, I actually really enjoy taking night photos and was surprised how well they turned out. These are my favorite 4 photographs I took from the bunch. Enough of my chattering, I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy!

On Top of the World

Hello hello!
I always feel like I don't update this blog enough as much as I could, but I do assure you the wait is over! I really want the photos to speak for themselves but I'll start with the most recent.

Laguna: 7/9/2011
These photos were taken on a location in Laguna where it is said that you would be "On Top of the World". I couldn't tell you how to get there, but my homegurl led me to this "secret" spot.
So when I first laid my eyes on this area of a winding dirt road, all I wanted to do was just bike! One day I'll have a legit suspension mountain bike.
You don't even know how jealous I was of that guy zipping down that road, especially with that dog!
I noticed that my homegurl really enjoys taking macro photos of objects. Decided to give it a try. I need to work on trying to balance the blurring subject and the background, but hey! Gotta start somewhere right?
One of my favorite ones. I was able to get what I was looking for compared to my first attempt.
When I saw this rusted wall along our way to "On top of the world" We both knew we hadda take a shot of this area. This is my interpretation of that spot.

More to come stay tuned!

RESTRAP Bottle Holster

Now this is cool. Although I do wonder if that velcro will really hold on well especially if that bottle is full. Still in its prototype stages I will be keeping an eye out on this. I still am considering putting water bottle cages on my steed especially when I do an Irvine to SD ride. Hydration is key kids!
